Chinese madrassa

I guess this photo, one could say, illustrates the result of the hadith of the Envoy of God, may God bless him and give him peace, "Seek knowledge even unto China."

This is not a Chinese madrassa. Firstly, the children, whilst being Chinese nationals are non-Han - mostly Uighurs, a Turkic group. This photo was taken in Hotan, XInjiang Province, otherwide known as Eastern Turkistan. So one can quibble over the Chinese-ness of the children. More importantly, this is most likely a normal primary school, not a madrassa, which are banned in China for children under 16.

Thanks for the valuable info...

And I have used the term madrassa here in a generic fashion as this Arabic word literally translates to "school." I don't mean it quite in the religious sense.
