Role of partisan press

Partisan press doesn’t necessarily report what’s new but keeps mainstream media, which is reporting what’s new, in line. It monitors and finds what’s missing.

The problem is not just what is missing, but that wholesale lies regularly infiltrate the mainstream press.

Very true. The functions of keeping the mainstream media "honest" and free of misinformation.
